  Commercial and Industrial Productions:

Commercial projects (product demonstration and marketing videos) and industrial projects (manufacturing lines and training videos) are undertaken with great care and attention to customer requirements, budgets and overall aims of the production. Whenever possible, visits will be made to the filming location/s to assess the overall viability of the assignment and the technical practicability of on-site filming. In this respect, the company's advice on all filming and editing matters (whether on-line or post editing) is always available to the customer as well as suggestions for the optimum length of the production to achieve customer objectives.

The company are well experienced in location filming within busy environments such as offices and factory floors and, in most cases, the use of microphone and lighting cables are almost non-existent where filming footage is post-edited. Portable batteries and telescopic microphones ensure the minimum of disturbance to daily routines, at the same time, the company's camera operatives remain as unobtrusive as filming conditions permit. (The company employ at least one female in the camera team who can be of great help and encouragement to any females who may be filmed or interviewed for the production).

In instances of on-line filming, particularly with a multi-camera set-up, pre-arrangements are necessary and some disturbance to day to day routines will be involved whilst setting up equipment (which could take half a day) unless filming is undertaken outside normal working hours or during weekends. The company always use tripods for steady pictures unless it is impractical to do so such as very confined locations, however, the use of shoulder mounted cameras with their in-built picture stabilizers ensure minimum camera movement for static shots and smooth movement for panning shots.

Customer logos, text, static instructional images and general designs are important ingredients to any marketing or training videos and the company take pains to ensure that they are fully aware of any emphasis (by way of live action, still pictures, commentary or voice-overs) required to give the production impact, effectiveness or understandable tuition, at the same time, the company's policy is to present a clear, meaningful and effective video for the customer and therefore the use of unnecessary gimmicks, fancy picture graphics and effects etc. are generally not used as they could well mar the overall message of the production.

Commentaries and tuition by customer staff (or appointed speakers) can be undertaken in and during the filming environment or recorded later at another selected location, the voice then being inserted into the pictures during the editing process. Alternatively, voice-overs by company staff or by voice-over professionals, can be arranged ensuring that the commentary fits in and is appropriate to the visual images. This would best be done at Capital Video premises where the speaker would have the aid of monitors and be able to 're-talk' sections until satisfied. All voice-over or background music is recorded on separate tracks which does not effect the picture content and can be altered at any time. This is useful for possible subsequent voice updating.

As 'proof' videos are not normally supplied in the video industry, the company can arrange, for larger projects, for the customer to view sections of provisionally edited footage as the project proceeds so that any 'final tuning' can be incorporated prior to final editing. Once each section has been finally agreed and edited, advance can be made to the next section until the entire production is in accordance with the customer's requirements. Any alterations (apart from voice-overs) to a finally edited production could be lengthy and costly.

The company make standard charges by the hour or by the day depending on the number of cameras required and if an on-line or post-edited production. Special prices would apply to on-going or very large projects. Prices are available on request and we will be pleased to discuss any commercial or industrial video requirement.
